No Movement in a 2014 Ford Escape in Bowling Green KY

So you just finished paying off your SUV of six years, happy to finally have one bill over and done with. While out and about with the kids, you start to feel a shutter. You think to yourself "Oh, it is no big deal, it will clear itself up over time". Sadly, this was not the case with our customer. This shutter did not fix itself, and it did not go away. It progressively got worse and worse. Having never taken this vehicle to a transmission shop before, she didn't feel the need to do it now. Well, wouldn't you know it, one day when she goes to load up the kids to take them to school the vehicle won't move anymore.
So what did the lady in the story do? She called Wholesale Transmission of course! One phone call later and Wholesale's tow truck was on the way. Of course we don't do emergency towing, but we do tow for our customer for free (locally and only on major repairs). So now that we have her vehicle, it is time to do some diagnostics. Our lead diagnostician, Ben Jr, went out and did a visual inspection on the vehicle. With this style you can't check the fluid from above, so it would have to be lifted to do that. Instead he checked the exterior for any signs of obvious leaks. He put a floor mat in the vehicle and hooked his scanner up. The vehicle had several transmission codes, all indicating lack of fluid pressure. What does this mean? Bad news, that is what it means.
The customer is informed of the concerns, she tells us to go ahead and start an RDI (Remove, Disassemble, Inspect). Once the transmission is out of the vehicle we tear it down, only to discover that the Torque Converter was the main failure point. The filter inside the transmission is filled to the brim with fine metal shavings, indicating torque converter failure. The forward clutches are smoked, along with the 3/5/R drum being cracked. A Complete Transmission Rebuild is required to solve this customers issues long term. So she approves of the build. We get the transmission installed, programmed, and back on the road in no time. Our customer was very satisfied and back on the road in Bowling Green, KY.
