2011 Ford F-250 Reman Transmission Replacement in Bowling Green, KY

First, I would like to say sorry for not uploading an article over the past two weeks. The shop has been busier than ever, and with my very limited free time it makes it very difficult to get to the computer and sit for an hour or so to write these out. On top of that, jury duty hit me last week and I was not in the shop all last week because of it! With all of that out of the way, time to get to work! Two weeks ago we finished working on a 2011 Ford F-250 Diesel truck with a 6R140 transmission in it. The truck came in with a no movement condition, so right off the rip we lifted it up to inspect some things. With this vehicle not moving, there are several options that could be the issue all the way from driveshaft, to differential. So, we got to looking. The transfer case fluid looked mint, the differential fluid looked mint, and the driveshaft looked good. What does that leave us with? You guessed it, transmission.

So, we dropped the pan on the transmission. Wouldn't you know it, metal is all throughout the transmission. It looks like metal is in every nook and cranny, making a basic overhaul very unlikely. The owner of this truck is a farmer by trade, so we decided to look into other options besides just rebuilds. I have kept this a secret up until now, but we have actually worked on this unit in the past. We built this about 2 years ago, and the owner has put over 200,000 miles on it! He doesn't doubt that our builds hold up, but in those 4 years prices have gone up. We want to make sure he gets the best bang for his buck if he will be driving that truck for that long. So, what do you think we recommended him do?
