2010 Ford Mustang Clutch Replacement in Bowling Green, KY
July 26, 2024
So your stick shift vehicle is starting to feel just a bit odd, almost like the clutch isn't releasing all the way? Well, have no fear, Wholesale Transmission is here to help! We had a 2010 Ford Mustang that was dropped off to us not to long ago, this being our 64th car on the lot this week, our customer understood a wait was likely. That being said, the moment we knew he was in a rental we jumped onto the vehicle trying to solve the issue. We really don't want our customers to be without their vehicle for too long, especially if they are in a rental!
Our lead diagnostician, Ben Jr, took a quick look at the vehicle. Taking note of the brake fluid level and clutch pedal feel before attempting to test drive. Now, let me tell you something here, Ben Jr is a bit young and doesn't know how to drive a stick shift (sad, we know). So, he goes and gets our builder who is 6ft8 of solid obesity to get into this tiny muscle car. It was a sight for sore eyes I tell you. With 20 years of transmission experience under his belt, and a few pizzas, the test drive commenced. Dwight noticed the petal felt a bit spongey, only really feeling it when close to the floor.
So, what do we do? That is right, we let the customer know that we believe the slave cylinder is starting to fail. Since this slave cylinder is internal (in the bell housing), the transmission must be pulled to replace it. The customer supplied his own parts, providing us with a Slave Cylinder, Master Cylinder, and a new Clutch / Flywheel combo. Our R&R Tech Michael was quick to work on this vehicle once the parts arrived. Two days later the customer was happy with his Clutch Replacements in Bowling Green, KY.
